Bed and Breakfast Style
The Lost Whale Inn is a true bed & breakfast, featuring 7-course buffet breakfasts with a wide array of delicious choices. Every morning guests wake up to the aromas of a full breakfast which feature a variety of egg dishes, potatoes made with leeks from the Inn’s own gardens, fresh fruits, baked goods, pancakes, waffles or other baked treats, and hot strudels or cobblers. Every room has comfortable beds with cozy comforters and 1000 thread count sheets on the beds, charming decor and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and Abalone Cove. The gardens are host to wonderful sculptures created by local artists, and the entry to the Inn boasts one of the unique whale statues which is part of the Whale Migration Project stretching from the Arctic Circle down to Baja. The Inn was selected as the site for the placement of the whale migration obelisk because of the excellent whale watching which occurs in spring and fall. There are many pairs of binoculars available throughout the public rooms of the Inn for special viewing of whales and, of course, the stellar sea lions and their babies.
