Founded in 1935, the Marin History Museum celebrates the traditions of innovation and creativity of the people of Marin County. Through exhibitions and educational programs, the Museum inspires honor for the past, an understanding of the present, and an imagination of the future.
Marin County has served as the muse for some of the greatest rock legends and anthems in music history. Coming in 2010, the Marin Rocks Exhibition explores the Marin County music scene, beginning in the 1960s when Marin’s musicians, recording studios and clubs gained international attention.
This exciting exhibition will host numerous interactive components utilizing sound and video recordings combined with displayed rock posters, photographs, instruments, and vintage sound equipment, encouraging visitors to immerse themselves in the sound and visuals of Marin’s multi-faceted rock history.
