Clear Lake’s Tallman Hotel has been carefully restored to reflect the elegance of its past life. The 1890’s main building, listed on the California Register of Historic Places, is surrounded by beautiful gardens and contemporary touches – a pool and hot tub, newly constructed suites and garden rooms with Japanese soaking tubs. Interiors feature Eastlake style handcrafted furniture, hand painted murals and artwork depicting local flora and fauna. The Tallman transports guests back in time but solar panels, geo-exchange heating and cooling systems, and modern amenities all produce a comfortable, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly environment.
Thirteen rooms, four suites all with balconies, phones, wireless internet, TV/DVD, with prices ranging from $125 to $300.
Across the garden from the hotel is its restaurant, Blue Wing Saloon & Cafe, which is open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. The Blue Wing offers Blues music on Monday nights, Sunday brunch, monthly Winemaker dinners featuring local wineries, and the annual Blue Wing Blues Festival in the garden the first week of August.
Next door to the hotel, Riffe’s Meeting House is used for musical and other events hosted by the Tallman, as well as for private parties, business meetings and conferences. The property is perfect for executive retreats and family reunions, catered by the Blue Wing Saloon & Cafe.
Located just off of Hwy 20 which connects Hwy 101 and I-5, the Tallman is only 2.5 hours from San Francisco and Sacramento. Lake County offers beautiful scenery, many outdoor activities including boating, kayaking, hiking, birding, horseback riding as well as first class wineries, restaurants, and farms producing cheese, organic poultry, bison, fruit , vegetables and walnuts
