For stormwatchers or sunseekers…whatever the weather…the Chart Room Restaurant, located within the Crescent City Harbor, in a converted marine engine shop, offers the hungry a delicious meal, wonderful service, a relaxed atmosphere and sights that will keep one lingering and returning for more!!
All senses come alive in this beachside community where the Redwood forests meet the sea!! The air is fresh and clean with a salty brinyness that one can almost taste! The sounds of the local sea life, the boats, the foghorn and the waves are comforting! The feel of the sand between the toes on an early morning walk along South Beach or the first flash of cold water filling up a wet suit as one paddles a surfboard out to catch a wave or a kayak to explore, or relaxing one’s tired muscles after a day of exploring the amazing Redwoods and the wild rivers that define the Pacific Northwest Coast are just a few of the attractions here!
Experiencing amazing sunsets with the ever popular Battery Point Lighthouse as a focal point while one enjoys our popular (some say ‘famous’) beer battered Alaskan Cod fish & chips or a steaming breadbowl of clam chowder is a must! Many other choices fill the menu such as juicy Prime Rib, Steak & Lobster and other seafood dishes. One can watch from large windows that line the Chart Room, Harbor seals basking in the sun, California seal lions barking out demands on the floating docks and for those birdwatchers there is always a variety of loons, grebes, cormorants, sea ducks and alcids swimming just below the windows while you are enjoying either breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Chart Room Restaurant!
Depending on the season one can witness a pod of whales spouting near Whaler Island or Brown pelicans diving in the surf for their meal! Surfers, kayakers, kite flyers, fishermen, crabbers, dog walkers and children alike all love to experience the Chart Room Restaurant at 130 Anchor Way, “where the fishermen meet and the sea lions play!” Where the sea life gathers, the foghorn blows, the waves crash and one wants to stay another day!!
