Gregory Graham Winery
Gregory Graham, former winemaker for the renowned Rombauer Vineyard of Napa Valley, recently brought his winemaking skills north to Lake County with the purchase of vineyards, construction of an estate winery, and introduction of wines under his own label.
Famous for his “hands-on” method of crafting wine, Greg saw potential for increasing the quality of his wines by growing his own wine grapes. So he, with his wife Marianne, selected soils in the Red Hills appellation, soils that are volcanic in origin, intensely red in color, shallow in depth, and rich in minerals. Add to that a vineyard elevation that ranges between 1,400 and 3,000 feet and plenty of sunshine due to the lack of coastal fog that other nearby wine regions experience, and Greg has an ideal terroir to focus on growing the Rhone varietals he currently favors.
Owner, oenologist, grower, and expert winemaker, Gregory Graham has crafted robust reds and vibrant whites in varietals that include Zinfandel, Syrah, Grenache, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier.
Joing Greg on a one hour tour of his vineyards and gain first-hand knowledge of the area and what makes his particular vineyards so special. Then it’s back to the tasting room for samples of current release wines while viewing the winery. Weather permitting; advanced reservations required. Free.
