We offer full-service hospitality to all visitors of Redwood National and State Parks. We are conveniently located in the heart of Redwood National Park, Fern Canyon, Prairie Creek State Park, beaches, and just a few minutes from world famous Lady Bird Johnson Grove.
The cabins at Redwood Adventures Vacation Village are built on seven acres at the southern end of a 40-acre parcel of land north of Orick, California that was originally a sawmill. Situated within Redwood National and State Park, the boundaries of Redwood Adventures Vacation Village border:
• Elk Meadow in Redwood National State Park on the south
• Prairie Creek on the west
• California State Highway 101 on the east,
The six 1,200-square foot cabins within the Vacation Village were originally built to house sawmill workers. Each completed cabin has been extensively remodeled.

Redwood National Park Ecotours

Begin your trip with an interpretive tour into the scenery-packed old-growth redwood forest with one of our certified naturalists. This will give you a thorough understanding of the complex ecology found in the unique coastal redwood groves. Hike the famous Fern Canyon, look for migrating whales and see the abundant wildlife found in Redwood National Park.
All guided ecotour adventures are completely customized to meet the interest and abilities of our clients. The amount of hiking involved is completely up to the clients. The trips outlined below are our most popular themes based on feedback from previous clients.


Explore giant Redwoods and California Beaches and other treasures only found here on the Redwood Coast. Highlights of this adventure include exploring the unique transition between the coastal zone and forest habitats, seasonal marine mammals (California gray whales, seals, porpoise and otters), beachcombing and tide pools, giant Redwoods and Spruce forests.


See the world’s tallest measured trees. Visit the groves where some of the tallest trees in the world are located. Check out the World Heritage Site, visit the world famous Tall Trees Grove and the giants of Prairie Creek. Highlights of this adventure include exploring virgin old-growth forests and giant trees of all species. This trip requires moderate to strenuous hiking to access the Tall Trees Grove.


Discover the Redwood Creek habitat home to numerous animals and enormous Redwood Trees. Redwood Creek watershed is home of the World’s tallest measured trees. We don’t know where they are, but we know why they grow in this unique area. Viewing Black Bears, Roosevelt Elk, Bald Eagles, Salmon species and many other amazing creatures are all a possibility on this adventure.


See the unique inland habitat found off our majestic coast. As the elevation changes, so does the habitat found in Redwood National Park. Giant Redwoods give way to the oak prairies and wild flowers. Learn about the Native American Indian and Pioneer Heritage that have and will continue to shape this unique part of California’s greatest Redwood Valley.


Fern Canyon is an awesome sight. This picturesque setting, used in the filming of Jurassic Park, is a must-see part of Redwood National Park. Its natural waterfalls, a meandering creek and high bluff prairies are even more amazing when interpreted by one of our expert guides.


Many great things can be found in our local tide pools. Explore sea caves and discover some our local starfish, urchins, anemone and crabs. Our tide pool adventures are perfect for any age


Learn about our unique redwood forest ecosystem and the amazing array of wildlife and spectacular scenery that can only be accessed by mountain bike. Our Guided Mountain Bike Tours allow beginners to learn off-road mountain biking techniques on our wide trials through redwood groves, meadows, creeks, and beaches. Intermediate and advanced riders are introduced to some of the North Coast’s famous single-track trails. We have several different trails to choose from and each adventure is custom designed to meet our client’s interest and riding abilities.

Or, park your car and strike out on your own with a Bicycle Rental. We offer men’s and women’s Cannondale Mountain Bikes, to allow you to explore the wonders found on the North Coast.

Horseback Riding

Saddle up and go by horseback up into the majestic old growth forest of Redwood National Park. You will travel up the mountain from sea level to 600 ft to see giant trees, unique habitats and breathtaking views of the North Coast. Interpretive tour includes information on redwood ecology, local wildlife, flora and local history.

Fishing Adventure Packages

This year plan your big fishing trip with Redwood Adventures. Come fish for our world-famous Steelhead, Chinook and Coho salmon on the Klamath, Smith, Eel, Mad and the Trinity rivers. Or head out to Trinidad Bay to fish for halibut, salmon and rock cod. Our accommodations are ideally located within the short distance to the Klamath River and world class fishing. We even have a expert local salmon chef that can prepare your fresh catch for you.
Each Fishing Adventure Tour includes supplies, boat, tackle, bait, and guide to ensure a unique and safe experience. Anglers are required to have current fishing licenses and permits.


Come sport fishing on a scenic charter and discover the unique beauty of the wild Northern California coast. A professional fishing guide leads you to salmon, halibut and rock cod out of Trinidad Bay. Trinidad Bay is a great location to fish, with a short run (less than 30 minutes) to the fishing grounds and most fishing done in 70ft or less.

Redwood Adventures Salmon Spawning Observation Tours, led by biologists and fishery experts, direct participants to a variety of locations to study the migration and spawning of wild salmon. In addition to watching this timeless phenomenon, participants will learn about the history, habitat, ecology, cultural and historic importance of salmon on the north coast. This 4-6 hour guided tour includes a snack and educational materials. Available September-March. December and January tend to have the best conditions for the salmon migration. Please call for current conditions.


Paddle kayaks on Redwood Creek, the coastal lagoons or the ocean. Experience exploring the abundance of water found on the North Coast and the amazing array of wildlife and spectacular scenery that can only be accessed by kayak.


Explore the rock gardens and view shorebirds, and marine mammals from the water at Trinidad Cove using single and tandem sit-on-top kayaks. This trip is appropriate for beginners and will include a brief kayaking lesson. Wetsuits, helmets, lifejackets (sizes Infant through Adult XXL), windbreakers, booties, kayaks, and paddles will be provided.


Big Lagoon is an enclosed body of water. It shares a 3½ mile sand spit with the ocean and is over 9 miles to circumnavigate. Shore birds and river otters are abundant. It is possible to view many species of birds, elk, otters, fish and big spruce and redwood trees. You can also paddle up Maple Creek from Big Lagoon and often see Roosevelt Elk from your kayak! This trip is appropriate for all ages. It is a great spot to picnic, whale watch, and look for beach agates. Families enjoy swimming the relatively warm waters of Big Lagoon and playing in the sand
